Mehdi Pourhusain[1]
The jurists consider the nonexistence of corruption or harm as one of the conditions for enjoining good and forbidding evil, but Imam Husain, despite the fact that he considered the nature of his uprising to be enjoining good and forbidding evil, revolted with the knowledge of that he will be martyred. He thus did not act in accordance with this condition. To justify this action of Imam Husain, the jurists have put forward a number of possibilities: he did not know that he would be martyred, there was no way other than being martyred, it is permissible to make peace with the enemy but it is not compulsory to do so, Imam's movement was mysterious and it is not necessary to observe this condition when the obligation is important. Imam Khomeini theorized the last possibility, turned it into a theory and acted accordingly.
Keywords: Imam Husain, enjoying good, importance, harm, prohibition of evil
