Abstract

The martyr philosopher, Professor Murteza Mutahhari, had valuable opinions on the issue of women, their status, freedom, hijab, etc., which were reflected in his three works: “The System of Women’s Rights in Islam,” “The Issue of the Hijab,” and “Sexual Morals between Islam and the West.” This is because he studied women’s rights and analyzed them from all-natural, formative, humane, moral, and psychological angles. He presented evidence for every doctrine he adhered to and cited the sayings of scholars and thinkers with expertise in human and social studies.
His books are truly among the greatest works in this field, as they uncover the mysteries of this issue and reveal its facts in a way that makes the reader firmly acknowledge the legality of the laws and legislation of Islam regarding women’s rights and respect for their dignity, and the greatness of the goals for which these laws were enacted.
This article is actually a summary of the three works of the aforementioned martyr, and the aim is to present his valuable ideas about women concisely so that people, especially the upcoming generations, can benefit from them.
