Abstract
Violence has become a widespread phenomenon in today's world, and one of its most important types is domestic violence against women. This is because of the pivotal role of women in providing comfort for family members and the negative effects of this type of violence on the family system and the family members being affected by this phenomenon. Islam has defended women's rights in a great way, and the verses of the Qur’an and the narrations of the infallibles are full of commandments calling on men to show more love, kindness, and mildness toward their wives.
Through a brief overview of domestic violence against women, its causes and bad consequences, the research attempts to explain Islam’s perspective on violence against women and strategies to reduce it.
Raising the level of psychological and moral health of the members of society, religious and moral education and training to deal with life’s difficulties and challenges are preventive methods presented by Islam in this context. Correcting the type of thought about women, reforming the position on assaulting women by beating them, correcting the view on women’s domestic responsibilities, reforming behavior and dealing with the husband are some of the therapeutic solutions of Islam in the context of combating domestic violence against women.
