Abstract
In Islamic jurisprudence—particularly in family jurisprudence—the status of women within the family and society has been regarded as a central element in either strengthening or weakening social and political systems. A democratic system, founded on the principles of public participation and respect for individual rights, necessitates the dynamic and active engagement of all segments of society, including women, across various domains. Findings of the present study indicate that, from the perspective of family jurisprudence, women can contribute to the promotion of a culture of respect for rights, justice, and civic participation by raising children in accordance with religious and ethical teachings and by disseminating Islamic values. In the public sphere as well, family jurisprudence acknowledges women's participation within the legitimate frameworks established by Sharia. This article, grounded in the principles and foundations of family jurisprudence, examines the impact of women's presence and participation in both strengthening and weakening democratic systems. It also addresses the challenges and opportunities that exist in this domain. Accordingly, this study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach and achieves its aim through the examination of jurisprudential texts.
